Coastal Expression is a locally owned and operated tour and rental company located in the heart of Nanaimo. Our staff love the oceans and forests that make up this beautiful part of the world, and we're ready to show you what makes it so special.
Coastal Expression has managed a large fleet of rental kayaks for many years. We are revitalizing our offers with brand new tours and rental options, so that you can discover Nanaimo from a whole new perspective. We have partnered with MEC, to improve your rental experience. Now, you can get 15% of all MEC purchases on the day of your tour or rental pick up and drop off!

Jeremy Stehr-So
Lead Guide & Rental Manager
Born and raised on BC's coast, Jeremy has enjoyed being outside from childhood. Growing up hiking, camping, sailing, and kayaking around BC and across the globe, he has vast experience in outdoor living. Through earning a degree in Geography at Vancouver Island University, and working at camps and youth programs, he has spent the last decade channeling his passion for nature into a career in guiding and outdoor education. He spent last summer kayak guiding in Haida Gwaii and works as an educator at Sea to Sky Outdoor School in the Howe Sound.
Jeremy combines excellent risk management, safety, and intentional outdoor adventuring with personal and educational connections. He is excited to share his love and curiosity for nature with everyone he meets.
